Komputer ialah peranti (device) elektronik yang boleh anda gunakan untuk menyimpan dan memproses maklumat. Komputer membantu anda menjalankan pelbagai tugas seperti:
 menghantar mesej atau e-mel
 membuat pembentangan atau persembahan
 menyelenggara dan mengemaskinikan rekod
 menulis teks
 menyusun dan mengemaskinikan fail
 dan banyak lagi

Peranan komputer
Komputer memberikan kesan terhadap kehidupan seharian kita. Ia boleh digunakan dalam pendidikan, penyelidikan dan penyiaran berita, untuk membuat ramalan cuaca, dan untuk pelbagai aktiviti perniagaan dan bersantai yang lain. Mari kita lihat dan kaji bagaimana komputer memainkan peranan utama dalam hidup anda.


Peranan Komputer dalam Industri


Dalam pendidikan
Dalam bidang pendidikan, pelatih boleh menggunakan komputer untuk menjalankan pelbagai tugas, seperti memberikan latihan menerusi alat bantu pembelajaran audio visual, menyelenggara rekod pelajar bagi memantau prestasi, mencari maklumat untuk topik yang berbeza dan menghasilkan tugasan.


Dalam perniagaan
Dalam bidang perniagaan, anda boleh menggunakan komputer untuk menyelenggara akaun, mewujudkan rekod kakitangan, memantau inventori, menyediakan pembentangan/
persembahan dan laporan, mengurus projek, berkomunikasi menerusi e-mel dan menyimpan data penting.


Dalam perubatan
Bidang perubatan, komputer boleh digunakan untuk menjalankan pelbagai tugas, seperti menyimpan dan mengemaskinikan rekod perubatan pesakit. Menggunakan komputer, doktor boleh mencari dengan mudah maklumat tentang ubat terbaharu yang ada untuk merawat penyakit. Selain itu, doktor juga boleh menggunakan teknologi komputer untuk berbincang dan berkongsi maklumat tentang pelbagai penyakit.




 

Dalam penyelidikan
Dalam bidang penyelidikan saintifik, saintis menggunakan komputer untuk penyelidikan. Mereka dapat menggunakan pelbagai alat untuk menganalisis data dan juga menyelesaikan formula yang sukar. Paling penting, mereka dapat berkomunikasi dengan pantas dan menerbitkan maklumat tentang penyelidikan terbaharu dengan serta-merta dalam kalangan komuniti penyelidikan saintifik.


Dalam penerbitan
Dalam bidang penerbitan, penulis dan penerbit menggunakan komputer untuk memformatkan reka letak halaman, menyunting salinan dan menghasilkan pelbagai jenis penerbitan, termasuk surat berita, majalah dan buku.


Dalam Muzik
Dalam bidang muzik, artis dan penghibur menggunakan komputer untuk membuat ilustrasi, lagu dan gambar. Kualiti kebanyakan permainan video, filem, muzik dan banyak lagi ditingkatkan dengan menggunakan komputer.


Dalam organisasi
Dalam organisasi kerajaan, komputer digunakan untuk menyusun dan menyimpan maklumat, serta menyelenggara rekod. Ia juga digunakan untuk menyediakan perkhidmatan kepada rakyat. Sebagai contoh, anda boleh melihat maklumat tentang dasar semasa dan isu kerajaan pada komputer.

Tuan Guru Dato’ Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat dilahirkan dalam sebuah keluarga yang sangat kuat berpegang kepada ajaran Islam di Kampung Pulau Melaka, Kota Bharu, Kelantan pada tahun 1931.

Bapanya, Haji Nik Mat bin Raja Banjar bin Raja Abdullah bin Raja Mamat merupakan keturunan Raja Jembal. Bapanya lebih dikenali dengan panggilan Tuan Guru Nik Mat Alim disebabkan beliau arif dalam ilmu-ilmu agama. Beliau terkenal di Kelantan dalam mengendalikan institusi pengajian pondok di Kampung Kedai Lalat.

Di situlah Nik Abdul Aziz mendapat pendidikan awal bersama ratusan pelajar Islam dari segenap ceruk rantau Asia Tenggara. Sejak kecil beliau mempelajari dan mendalami kitab-kitab agama yang muktabar dari Almarhum ayahandanya serta belajar menulis daripada ibunya Hajah Aminah Majid.

Sewaktu usia 9 tahun, Nik Abdul Aziz dihantar berguru dengan Tuan Guru Haji Abas Mohamad di pondok Madrasah Ittifaqiyah, Jertih, Besut, Terengganu. Tuan Guru menuntut ilmu di situ selama setahun sehingga peperangan Jepun berlaku dan pengajian dihentikan buat seketika.

Pada masa ini juga, Tuan Guru berulang alik ke Kampung Sirih, berguru dengan Tok Khurasan dan belajar dengan Tuan Guru Ali Pulau Pisang dalam mata pelajaran Nahu dan Tuan Guru Dato’ Muhamad Nur Ibrahim (bekas Mufti Kelantan) dalam pelajaran Fekah. Setelah perang tamat Tuan Guru menyambung kembali pelajaran secara formal di Ittifaqiyah.

Walaupun usia Tuan Guru masih muda tetapi beliau dapat menguasai kitab Asmuni (sebuah kitab nahu yang agak tinggi) setanding dengan murid-murid yang lebih tua.

Pada tahun 1945 beliau menyambung pelajaran di Jamek Merbawi Al-Ismaili, Kota Bharu hingga 1952. Beliau menyambung pelajaran ke Universiti Darul Ulum di Deoban, India, mendalami ilmu Fekah, Usul Fekah, Tafsir al-Qur’an, Hadis dan lain-lain.

Ketika di India beliau juga telah berguru dengan Sheik al-Hadith dan guru Tarikat yang terkemuka di India iaitu Maulana Mohamad Ahmad Al-Madani dengan mendapat ijazah. Maulana Mohamad seorang pejuang kemerdekaan India yang pertama dan pernah di penjara semasa penjajahan Inggeris.

Pada 1957 beliau menyambung pelajaran ke Pakistan dalam bidang Tafsir. Pada 1958 menyambung pelajaran di Kuliyatul Lughah di Al-Azhar, Mesir dan memperolehi ijazah sarjana muda dalam jurusan pengajian bahasa Arab kemudian menyambung pelajaran sehingga mendapat ijazah sarjana (M.A) dalam jurusan kehakiman dan perundangan Islam selama 2 tahun. Kemudian beliau mendapat diploma pendidikan di Darul Azhar dan pulang ke tanahair Februari 1962.

Perkhidmatan :
Pada 1962 beliau membuka sekolah dengan menggunakan tanah wakaf yang diberi oleh ibu saudara Hajah Kalthom iaitu Sekolah Menengah Ugama Darul Ulum, Pulau Melaka di sebelah petang dan sebelah pagi beliau berkhidmat di Sekolah Menengah Agama Tarbiatul Mardhiyah, Panchor, Kemumin. Pada sebelah malam beliau menjadi guru dan penyelia di sekolah dewasa selama 2 tahun.

Pada 1 Januari 1964 beliau meletakkan jawatan dan berkhidmat di Ma’had Muhammadi, Jalan Merbau, Kota Bharu.

Bidang Politik :
Beliau menjadi ahli PAS sejak 1967. Pada Julai 1967 hingga 1986 beliau menjadi calon PAS dalam pilihan raya kecil Parlimen Kelantan Hilir (sekarang Pengkalan Chepa). Pada tahun 1986 beliau berpindah untuk bertanding di kerusi kawasan Parlimen Bachok dan Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Semut Api hingga sekarang.

Pada 1971 beliau dilantik menjadi Ketua Dewan Ulama’ PAS Pusat hingga 1995. Kemudian dilantik Mursyidul Am PAS mengambil alih tempat yang ditinggalkan oleh Tuan Haji Yusuf Rawa.

Pada 1978 Tuan Guru dilantik sebagai Pesuruhjaya PAS Kelantan kemudian Menteri Besar Kelantan pada Oktober 1990. Dari sinilah bermulanya satu era kepimpinan ulama dan peranan serta tanggungjawab beliau bukan satu tugas yang kecil.

Beliau telah menulis beberapa buah buku antaranya ‘Mengapa Saya Tidak Masuk Kristian’ dan beberapa buah buku telah diterbitkan mengandungi siri-siri kuliah dan ceramah.

Pendakwah :
Dengan pengalaman yang ada, beliau telah membimbing pelajar Ma’had Muhammadi dengan menanam kesedaran dan akhirnya timbul satu ‘Halaqat pengajian yang sekarang disebut usrah. Selepas itu wujud sebuah surau yang masih ada di Ma’had Muhammadi Al-Banat, Jalan Merbau, Kota Bharu di mana surau itu dijadikan tempat latihan sembahyang jemaah dan dakwah.

Seorang Petah Bercakap
Tuan Guru lebih dikenali sebagai ulama kerana petah berpidato. Beliau telah diasuh oleh bapanya setiap hari Jumaat di masjid sejak dahulu lagi.

Ucapan beliau terang berserta dengan perumpamaan yang jelas dan memudahkan para pendengar memahaminya. Inilah cara beliau mendapat tempat di hati penyokongnya. Ilmu yang disampaikan merupakan khazanah dan kesetnya tersiar di seluruh negara hingga ke Selatan Thailand dan mendapat sambutan dari setiap peringkat sehingga menjadi bahan rujukan di pusat pengajian tinggi.

Keistemewaan :
Satu perkara yang luar biasa Nik Abdul Aziz, mengendalikan pondok bergerak sejak 1962 hingga sekarang. Beliau tidak pernah berhenti keluar rumah siang dan malam memberi kuliah dan berceramah kepada orang kampung.

Walaupun beliau telah menjadi Menteri Besar, bidang pendidikan tidak pernah ditinggalkan. Setiap malam Jumaat dan Khamis beliau mengajar dan setiap pagi Jumaat mengadakan kuliah kerana bagi beliau mengajar adalah kerja yang paling mulia sebab ia merupakan pekerjaan para Anbia’.

Penghargaan :
Beliau mendapat penghargaan:
1. Jaksa Pendamai (JP) pada 10 Julai 1968 oleh Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Yahya Putra Ibnu Almarhum Sultan Ibrahim.
2. Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) oleh Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
3. Dikurniakan Darjah Kebesaran Jiwa Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Mulia peringkat pertama (Al-Isma’illi) SJMK yang membawa gelaran Dato’ pada 30 Mac 1995.

Perkahwinan :
Pada usia 34, beliau mendirikan rumah tangga dengan Datin Tuan Sabariah bin Tuan Ishak bin Raja Awang, berasal dari Kampung Kemumin, Kota Bharu iaitu tahun 1962. Hasil perkahwinan selama 30 tahun itu dikurniakan 10 cahaya mata lima perempuan dan lima lelaki.

Mereka adalah Nik Aini, Nik Umar, Nik Adli, Nik Abdul Rahim, Nik Abduh, Nik Adilah, Nik Muhamad Asri, Nik Amani, Nik Amalina dan Nik Asma’ Salsabila.

Kehidupan beliau sederhana tinggal di sebuah rumah kayu binaan kampung. Ruang tamunya tidak dihiasi dengan set sebagaimana yang menjadi kebiasaan di rumah pembesar negeri. Apa yang ada sebuah almari yang penuh dengan kitab agama.

Beliau juga tidak membenarkan isterinya memakai sebarang perhiasan begitu juga dengan anaknya. Ternyata apa yang ditarbiyahkan ke atas keluarga dilakukan sendiri oleh beliau. Baju Melayu teluk belanga, kain sarung pelikat dan serban sudah menjadi pakaian rasmi beliau.

Ahli Parlimen yang komited :
Sebelum terpilih menjadi ADUN Semut Api dalam pilihanraya umum 1986 dan kemudiannya terpilih menjadi Ketua Pembangkang di Dewan Undangan Negeri Kelantan, Tuan Guru Haji Nik Abdul Aziz telah terpilih menjadi Ahli Parlimen PAS bagi kawasan Pengkalan Chepa selama tiga penggal berturut-turut.

Selama menjadi Ahli Parlimen, beliau telah menyumbang kan pelbagai idea, saranan dan kritikan melalui ucapan-ucapan yang disampaikannya di Dewan Rakyat.

California seized 20,000 apples

KUCHING - Nearly 20,000 species of Gala apples and Granny Smith worth about RM82,000 were suspected of being contaminated with Listeria bacteria monocytegenes seized by the Sarawak Health Department in two separate operations in Sibu and here yesterday.

State Health Director, Dr. Males Zulkifli said the operation was held after receiving instructions from the Ministry of Health following the US Food and Drug Administration issued a notice about the pollution yesterday.

Al Furqon Al Haq is fake QURAN (II)

Flight 1862 from Dallas to St. Louis had to return for an emergency landing 10 minutes into the flight Tuesday. The passengers were told to brace for a crash landing at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

Jim Faulkner, an American Airlines spokesman, confirmed that he flight turned back to the airport without incident around 8:40 a.m. local time. Passengers were put on another plane to St. Louis.

"When they said assume the position, it was scary," passenger Elaine Krieger said.

As passengers reflected on the incident, some were left to wonder whether the landing-gear concern was real, well aware of the airline's recent trouble with labor.

"Some people are cheering as we landed, and the rest of us are thinking, 'Is this a scenario they created, or was it real?'" passenger Jeff Estes said. "Are they really heroes, or are they guys just creating a job action?"

After a tumultuous week of seats' becoming loose, flipping over in mid-flight in one case, American Airlines has announced that it will resume stalled contract negotiations with its pilots' union as early as today.

The developments could lead to a breakthrough in a rocky standoff between the nation's third-largest carrier and its pilots. Thomas Horton, CEO of American parent AMR Corp., said Tuesday in a statement that he was pleased that "intensive bargaining" was scheduled to begin this week.

"It has been a very challenging couple of weeks for our company. As you know, our operations have experienced significant disruption, affecting our customers, our people and our owners," Horton said.

Nearly half of American Airlines' fleet of Boeing 757s -- 47 jets -- were taken out of service earlier this week to make sure that no more of its coach seats came loose in flight, as they now have three separate times. As of this morning, many of the planes are now back in service as the airline said the loose seats were a result of human or mechanical error and not sabotage.

The airline said a saddle clamp was improperly installed on the planes where the seats disengaged. The latest reported incident of loose seats occurred on a flight from Vail, Colo., to Dallas Sept. 26, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

Flight 443 from New York's John F. Kennedy Airport to Miami had to return to JFK Monday when the loose seats were discovered, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.

The earlier reported incident took place Saturday night when seats came unbolted on American Airlines 

Flight 685 from Boston to Miami. The flight was diverted and made an emergency landing at JFK.
