Taiwan products contaminated with DEHP

Kuantan, The Health Ministry confirmed food products Fruit and Vegetable Natural Beauty Powder imported from Taiwan have been contaminated by hazardous chemicals in (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP).

Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai (small picture) said the confirmation is based on the analysis conducted by the ministries of the two food products.

 

"However, another of Natural Beauty products are not contaminated with DEHP Drink Powder and therefore I advise Natural Beauty products Fruit and Vegetable Powder sales stopped immediately.

"Consumers who have purchased the product are advised not to eat these foods because of concern about side effects," he told reporters after opening the Kuantan MCA division meeting here yesterday.

Yesterday, the newspaper reported that several products from Taiwan reliable DEHP contaminated with chemicals including products Chuang's King Tai Chang Food. Co. Add Tiong Lai, the results of the analysis finds Powder Drink Natural Beauty products did not contain DEHP.

He also said, Chuang's Square Cookies products flavored brown sugar, flour, almonds and sesame products Chang Chuang's King Tai Food is not tainted with DEHP.

"Therefore, people should not worry because the ministry will continue to monitor food imports from that country," he said.
